1st World Championshipof Kale Cooking in Oldenburg  2017 

Rules

Kale-Cooking Worldchampion 2017 is the chef with the most innovative, tastiest and most beautiful Kale-dish.

 

The independent Jury selects the world champion on the basis of the following criteria:

1. Creativity and innovation

2.Taste and consistency

3. Presentation and appearance

For each criterion the jury can award up to 11 points so that there is a maximum of 33 points.

Conditions

Cooking is done in three groups, each with up to 7 individual participants.

The starting order will be determined by lots.

All cooks are subject to the same requirements and working conditions:

 

1. The dish must not contain ingredients already prepared.

2. You have 40 min. to prepare 4 portions of your dish and present it to the jury.

3. The following facilities will be available for you:

a) A work table

b) electric stove with 2 hot-plates

c) Two stainless steel pots (5 l and 2 l)

d) One frying pan

e) One cutting board (Knives and other tools have to be brought along.

f) One socket (220V) to connect an own cooking device

g) Four white 26cm size plates for serving your dish (own tableware can be brought along)

h) One central basin for washing of ingredients

i) One kilo washed, fresh Kale from the region (other ingredients can either be bought at the close by market or be brought by the participants)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: May we cook as a team of 2 persons?

A: No.

 

Q: May I bring buns, if I want to make a burger?

A: Yes. Bread, buns etc. are allowed

 

Q: May I marinade the meat two days before?

A: No. Everything has to be done during the 40 minutes.
